We are a Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School in the Diocese of Carlisle and in an attempt to encapsulate the ethos, spirit and values of our school we have agreed the following:
Our children will be happy, confident and aspirational. They will have resilience that stems from the positive Christian foundation embedded at Dalton St Mary’s.
Passionate teaching, innovative ideas and technology will ensure our children are life-long learners; prepared for their future in an ever changing world. The Christian foundation of DSM drives our vision.
We ensure everyone in our school family experiences the best we have to offer. We celebrate achievements, inspiring each other knowing there is never failure - only an opportunity to learn. We respect others’ thoughts and beliefs as in the teaching of Jesus. We are thankful our well-resourced school allows us to develop the skills to serve others and the community, stretching out into the World as educated global citizens.
Mark 12 V30:31
[30] and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.'

Our Core Christian Values underpin everything we do here at DSM.
Our daily Collective Worships reflect on them each in turn and when we are talking with the children about their behaviour and conduct we refer to them.
